Music has always played an important role at First Presbyterian Church. First Presbyterian Church's location, size, and acoustics make it a preferred venue in Beacon for concerts. In addition to the normal roster of Choral Services and Lessons and Carols, First Presbyterian holds several concerts each year that are both Parish and Community sponsored. First Presbyterian Church currently has a mixed voice choir of men and women who sing every Sunday in the academic year for the 10 AM Choral Worship Service. The choral library of the parish is quite extensive and encompasses all the great masterworks and standards of the past 500 years of sacred choral music, while also containing many lesser known anthems, and many modern works that are just entering the repertoire. First Presbyterian Church has always prided itself on the quality music that is performed weekly during the liturgies, and under the current Director of Music, the entire breadth and depth of the choral library is again performed. First
Presbyterian currently has a 16-rank pipe organ which was built in
1945 by Ernest M. Skinner of the Æolian-Skinner Organ Company, and
contains 1,055 pipes. It is a two manual, electro-pneumatic pipe
organ built along traditional lines. For more information about the
pipe organ, the carillon, the parish's Malmark hand bells, or
